Cameo Consulting Group, LLC, a management consulting practice based out of Alexandria, VA, is seeking a qualified and available Research and Communications Support to support a potential Federal client in Richland, WA. These positions are full-time, long-term in nature, and available upon contract award.

COMMUNICATIONS SUPPORT

MISSION STATEMENT:

The Department of Energy, Hanford Site requires support services for research and development of strategic communication initiatives on Hanford cleanup issues and challenges.

DUTIES:

The contractor shall provide a broad spectrum of support to include support in the development and coordination of:

• Comprehensive communication strategies on highly technical subjects, to inform and educate internal and external stakeholders at varying levels of education and knowledge on the topics;
• Media engagement materials, sometimes requiring technical research and understanding;
• Communication products used to inform and educate various internal and external audiences and stakeholders; and
• Review and approval processes for communication products, including but not limited to presentations, press releases, announcements, fact sheets, and fliers on tank farms and WTP topics for delivery at various stakeholder engagements, including the Hanford Advisory Board, Oregon Hanford Advisory Board, Hanford Communities, local decision-makers, Congressional and legislative staff, and others.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Eight years relevant experience related to writing for external non-technical audiences on highly technical topics;
• Bachelors degree in a relevant field of study (journalism, communications, English preferred);
• Knowledge of media strategies and tools;
• Ability to interface successfully with senior level management;
• Ability to work with government and contractor personnel to problem solve and formulate strategies for success;
• Knowledge of Hanford Site mission, activities and priorities, preferred;
• Knowledge of DOE’s program management practices, policies, and procedures, preferred;
• Knowledge of Hanford Site tank farm mission and status, preferred;
• Knowledge of Hanford Site Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant Project, preferred;
• Knowledge of the Hanford stakeholder groups, sensitivities and concerns, preferred;
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills;
• Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of tools, including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams and other automation tools;
• Ability to work independently and perform multiple tasks with dynamic priorities;
• Ability to interact with diverse parties with multiple, potentially conflicting interests;
• Well-developed interpersonal skills including the ability to work with individuals and groups of diverse backgrounds;
• Ability to correctly and concisely capture complex ideas in writing;
• Knowledge of Federal and agency regulations;
• Skill in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques;
• Identification of any conflicts, potential conflicts, or perceived conflicts of interest with any Hanford Site contractors; and
• U.S. Citizenship.
