Cameo Consulting Group, LLC a management consulting practice based out of Alexandria, VA, is seeking multiple qualified and available Radiology Technologists to support a prospective Federal client in Las Vegas, Nevada. The positions are full-time, long-term, and available upon contract award.

TITLERadiology Technologist (CT)

TASKS AND DUTIES:

  • Balances the needs of the patients and staff while still performing complex scans and procedures.
  • Demonstrates appropriate techniques to gather relevant information from the medical record, significant others, and health care providers.
  • Access factors that may contraindicate the procedure.
  • Maintains knowledge of physical assessment, aseptic techniques, intravenous skills, and universal precautions.
  • Knowledgeable in pre-procedural, procedural, and post-procedural care of patients.
  • Maintains specific knowledge of cross-sectional human anatomy and its application in spiral, and/or, multi-slice computer tomography, inclusive of 3-D reconstruction scans, including drainages, biopsies, and peripheral vascular examinations.
  • Maintains specific knowledge and training in the location, appearance, and function of the various major and minor systems susceptible to radiological illumination.
  • Interprets the examination request accurately and understands the functioning and interrelationship of the various organs.
  • Uses methods and techniques which will identify organs appearing on the digital display monitor, or on film, and the various stages of the examination to judge the acceptability of the image and/or scan for diagnostic use and emphasizes the aspects of particular interest to the physician.
  • Performs technical work in support of diagnostic radiology under the direction of a Radiologist.
  • Operates computerized radiology/imaging equipment as part of the diagnostic plan for patients.
  • Receives requests or instructions for procedures. Interprets requests or instructions from radiologist.
  • Employee understands and carries out the requests made by physicians or seeks assistance of the supervisor or a higher graded technologist when an uncommon, unique or new procedure is required. Independently interprets and carries out the requests made by physicians.
  • As Diagnostic Radiology technologist (CT), interprets and directs the accomplishment of the most difficult requests.
  • Carries out and oversees the work of lower-grade technologists to accommodate requests. 5.3.12 Performs computed axial tomography (CT) scanning of head and/or body, to perform a variety of complex diagnostic examinations.
  • Performs a variety of specialized CT examinations through experience obtained from in-house training and additional outside training should the individual require said training. Familiarity with CT cross-sectional anatomy and computerized technical factors as well as the ability to recognize abnormalities and masses in CT studies, as well as, the ability to determine their consistency (region of interest - ROI) and their relationship to adjacent structures is basic.
  • The acquisition of CT images requires that the Medical Instrument technologist continues her maintenance of updating new technological advances, for this technology is constantly evolving, thus the complexity is always changing.
  • Performs all aspects of CT-Scan. Function as expert regarding software and hardware capabilities in the performance of the instrument and advices the radiologist on which pulse sequence are available and which selection of acquisitions parameters are necessary to produce optimum images and generate efficiency in data collection.
  • Secures the confidence and cooperation of patients during procedures. Explains procedures, positions patients for desired results, and cushions and shields patients as appropriate. Varies procedures or positions to adjust for patients' medical conditions.
  • Ensures ALARA principle is applied. (As low as reasonably achievable).
  • Participates in yearly visual and fluoroscopic inspections of Lead Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the entire VA Medical Center, VA Clinics, and VA Dental Services.
  • Practices radiation and MRI safety in order to reduce exposure and ensure safety to patient, staff and self. This is achieved using lead aprons, lead gloves, lead shields, lead-lined walls, collimation and following radiation and MRI safety standards.
  • Utilizing the PCR Reader (computerized image reader) enters procedure images into the Imaging Network (PACS) and validates its accuracy. Through the Easy Vision workstation.
  • Upon completion of post-processing and quality control process, transmits completed studies to archive via the imaging network (PACS) for subsequent interpretation by the radiologist(s).
  • Other duties will be described in further detail upon request.

PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE:

  • Ordering Period 1: 10/01/2021 – 09/30/2022
  • Ordering Period 2: 10/01/2022 – 09/30/2023
  • Ordering Period 3: 10/01/2023 – 09/30/2024
  • Ordering Period 4: 10/01/2024 – 09/30/2025
  • Ordering Period 5: 10/01/2025 – 09/30/2026

PLACE OF PERFORMANE:

VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System (VASNHS), 6900 North Pecos Road, North Las Vegas, Nevada 89086, in the Radiology department.

WORK HOURS: During the 24hr time period Monday thru Sunday based upon the schedule assigned, except when the Government facility is closed due to local or national emergencies, administrative closings, or similar Government directed facility closings.

The assigned shifts may consist of 4, 10, 12, hour shifts, not to exceed 40 hours per week. All contracted staff are entitled to Overtime. Each position may require contracted personnel to work a total of 40 hours per week which include weekdays, weekends, days, swings, and graveyard shift.

Actual workdays will be scheduled according to staffing needs and are subject to change at short notice, but advance notice will be given when possible.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have a valid American Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)(R)(CT), (ARRT)(R)(MRI).
  • Hold and self-maintain BLS Certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Administrative duties: understanding orders management, scheduling, and procedure prep.
  • Maintain specific knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and its application in spiral, and/or, multi-slice computer tomography, inclusive of 3-D reconstruction scans, including drainages, biopsies, and peripheral vascular examinations.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Positive Attitude. Desire to Learn, and professionalism.
