Payroll Manager (Part-Time, Remote)

About the Role:
We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Part-Time Remote Payroll Manager to oversee and manage our payroll processes. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled professional seeking flexible, remote work. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for our employees, maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations, and serving as the go-to expert for all payroll-related matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process bi-weekly or semi-monthly payroll accurately and on time for all employees using [e.g., ADP, Paychex, QuickBooks].
- Manage and maintain the payroll system, including employee data, tax information, deductions, bonuses, and garnishments.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
- Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.
- Process and monitor garnishment orders and other deductions.
- Oversee year-end payroll processes, including the distribution of W-2s and 1099s.
- Address and resolve employee inquiries regarding payroll in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborate with the HR department to ensure seamless onboarding and offboarding processes
- Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
- Assist with payroll audits and provide necessary documentation and support.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Payroll Manager or similar role, with a strong understanding of payroll processes and regulations.
- Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., ADP Workforce Now, Paycom, Gusto) and MS Office, particularly Excel.
- In-depth knowledge of federal and state payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy with a commitment to confidentiality.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is a plus.
